Oklahoma Softball Secures Nation’s Top Recruiting Class for 2027

Coach Patty Gasso and the Oklahoma Sooners have officially claimed the #1 recruiting class for 2027, landing five-star phenoms Finlee Williams and Emma Reynolds. The class is being lauded as a defensive and offensive powerhouse that will anchor the program for years to come.

The University of Oklahoma has once again asserted its dominance on the recruiting trail by securing the top-ranked class for 2027. The Sooners’ recent commitments include Finlee Williams, the #3 overall prospect in the nation, and Emma Reynolds, a high-octane infielder from Arizona ranked #62 nationally. These additions bolster an already deep roster of future Sooners who have spent the last several years dominating the travel ball circuit with elite organizations like the Texas Glory and Arizona Storm.

Emma Reynolds is particularly noted for her multi-sport athleticism, currently serving as a quarterback for her high school flag football team in addition to her prowess on the diamond. Scouts believe her versatility and arm strength will make her a defensive anchor in Norman. Meanwhile, Williams is considered one of the most polished outfielders in recent memory, possessing elite speed and a high-average bat that fits perfectly into Gasso's aggressive offensive system.

Recruiting analysts point out that Oklahoma's ability to close on top targets so early in the cycle has set a high bar for other Power 5 programs. With seven official visits already resulting in four major commitments, the Sooners are effectively 'cleaning house' in the 2027 class. This momentum is expected to influence other uncommitted stars, such as top-ranked pitcher Vivian Knott, as they look for programs with a proven track record of national championships.
