PG National Showcase Kickoff: Class of 2027 Stars Converge in Miami
The 2026 PG National Showcase has begun at LoanDepot Park, featuring 45 of the top 50 players from the Class of 2027. Dylan Seward and Chase Fuller are among the headliners looking to solidify their draft stock in front of hundreds of scouts.
The home of the Miami Marlins is currently the center of the baseball world for rising high school juniors. The 2026 PG National Showcase features an incredible 90% of the top-ranked players in the class of 2027. This five-day event allows prospects to participate in defensive workouts, 60-yard dashes, and live games against the best arms in the country.
Connor Salerno, a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher from North Carolina, has already impressed by touching 96 mph with his fastball during the opening sessions. His physical presence on the mound and ability to miss bats have made him a primary focus for college recruiters attending the event. On the offensive side, switch-hitter Carter Hadnot is displaying the 'soft hands' and 'quick feet' that have kept him in the top five of the national rankings.
Jered Goodwin, Perfect Game's VP of Scouting, noted that the high attendance of top-tier talent speaks to the importance of this showcase in the draft cycle. For many of these players, this week in Miami represents the first step toward a potential first-round selection in the 2027 MLB Draft.
